My top 9 must-dos on Main Street USA every time I go to Disneyland Paris
- Take a photo by the Disneyland Castle
The castle is the centre piece of the park, take it from the left side as you’ll get a good angle with the greenery behind and have with fewer people to contend with.
- Enjoy a hot dog with castle views at Casey’s Corner
A perfect spot for people watching, Casey’s Corner gives you prime viewing along Main Street and castle. If you get there early it is ideal to watch parades, or to refuel before weaving through the crowd to find your perfect spot for the fireworks.
- Hop on the Main Street vehicles
Feeling a big tired? Hop on one of the Main Street Vehicles. There are bus stops by City Hall and the plaza by the castle. Pretend you are a Disney prince or princess as you enjoy the views and wave to your public.
- Appreciate the theming
From the names written on the shop windows to the ornate stain glass in Emporium shop, Disney go all out with their theming be sure to keep an eye out (especially on the ceilings) as you’ll see something different every time
- See Dapper Dan’s Hair Cuts
This beautiful store is set out like an authentic 1900s barber shop. It’s so well themed and is an actual hairdressers! You can book appointments at City Hall by the park entrance.
- Have dinner at Walt’s
For a great bird’s eye view of Main Street look no further than Walt’s. Set in a series of rooms, you feel like you could be in someone’s home and each room is themed after a different land found in the park. Definitely attempt to book this when you arrive to ensure a visit during your stay. If they are fully booked, you can try calling in in the afternoon and the staff may let you have a look around.
- Stroll Up Main Street USA at night
Over 40,000 lights highlight all the buildings on Main Street USA, which means gives it a certain ambience in the evening. When the sun goes down this American street comes to life.
- Get prime viewing for night-time shows
Main Street USA is a buzz of activity in the evening, especially if there is a night-time parade and fireworks. Be sure to get in early to get a curb side view as it gets busy. For the best views of the fireworks, try to stay in the middle wherever you end up as that is where you will get the best perspective of the display.
- Late night shopping
Save souvenir shopping till after the fireworks, as the shops don’t close for an hour after and there will be less crowds. Ideally head down one of the arcades, this way you won’t be swept up in the crowds leaving the park and you can peruse gifts at your leisure.
